California authorities say a mountain is the suspected killer of sheep and goats near Half Moon Bay.
A San Mateo County emergency alert says the remains of the animals were discovered Tuesday and state Department of Fish and Game experts believe the sheep and goats were killed by a mountain lion.
The San Francisco Chronicle says anyone who encounters a mountain lion shouldn't approach the animal.
The alert says people should make noise, to try to look bigger by waving arms and throw rocks or other objects.
