Mud, dirt and rocks are blocking the slow lane on southbound U.S. Highway 101 just before the Waldo Tunnel in Marin Sunday evening, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officers responded to the report of mud in the roadway at 6:03 p.m., said CHP Officer William Ogilvie.
Ogilvie said there have been no reports of collisions as a result of the debris.
"Eventually, someone will be sent out to clean it up, probably someone from Caltrans," Ogilvie said.
There is no estimated time on when the clean up will occur, he said.
