Someone died Friday morning at Muni's San Francisco Embarcadero station, shutting down service there about 8 a.m. for an indefinite period.

As a result, James Allison of BART said that any Muni rider with a valid ticket can ride BART for free between Balboa Park and the Embarcadero until further notice. Passengers must have the ticket in their poses session, and if they travel farther, they must pay the prorated fare.
