Muni is testing a new seating arrangement on two of its light-rail cars.
The transit agency is replacing the 14 double-wide seats with seven single seats. The change adds space for 10 more riders.
Besides increasing capacity, the reconfigured car is expected to improve on-time performance because it allows passengers to get in and out more quickly.
The seating program will be tested until June 13.
