Mystery Man Crashes, Dies on Local Bike Trail

An afternoon bike ride ends in death for a man who still has not been identified.

East Bay Regional Parks Police are hoping someone will come forward to identify a bicyclists involved in a solo crash that ended in his death.

The man was riding along the Alameda Creek Regional Trail, under the 880 freeway, on Tuesday afternoon when he crashed.

He was taken to a local hospital, but doctors could not save him.

He had no identification.

The man is described as an Asian, 55 - 60 years old, 5-5 to 5-7, approx 180 lbs. He was wearing a black baseball cap, green Elk casual jacket, light green Fox Retro sweater, white tshirt, gray Sweat pants and size 12 brown loafers.

He was riding a green Avalon 7 speed beach cruiser, with a metal basket in the front.
