A fire in a recycling center at a Napa County landfill has been contained without injury or damage to structures, Napa County fire officials said this afternoon.
The fire at the Clover Flat Landfill at 4380 Silverado Trail was first reported just before 4 p.m. in an area outside a recycling center, according to a Napa County fire dispatcher.
The fire, which involved some debris outside the recycling center, triggered a full wildland fire response, the dispatcher said. Witnesses reported a dramatic column of black smoke in the area.
It was contained at 5 p.m. at less than half an acre, and did not damage any buildings or cause any injuries.
