National Park Service Honors Veterans With Commemorative Video, Free Park Day

Many national parks have direct ties to the military, park officials said in a statement.

The National Park Service is inviting everyone in the nation to visit their closest service site for free this Veterans Day.

“The majestic landscapes, natural wonders and patriotic icons that we cherish as a society have inspired military members through the years,” said park officials in a statement. "On Veterans Day, honor those that have served and sacrificed for our country with a visit to a national park."

National parks often have direct ties to the military, with a bounty of battlefields and historic sites dedicated to American veterans.

Along with the free invite, the National Park service also released a video honoring men and women who served their country. You can check out that video here.
