Computer builder Hewlett-Packard, located in Palo Alto, was started by William Hewlett and David Packard, both Stanford graduates.
Hewlett-Packard Co.'s interim leader says the company acted appropriately in ousting CEO Mark Hurd over allegedly falsified expense reports and that investors she's spoken with have been supportive of the decision.
Cathie Lesjak says that Hurd did a good job but the company won't fundamentally change now that he's gone.
She emphasized on a call with reporters that HP has a deep bench of management talent.
Lesjak declined to go into further details about the expenses Hurd was alleged to have doctored to hide a relationship with a female marketing contractor for HP.
