New Office Deal For Pinterest Means Evictions For Tenants

Here's another tech-fueled eviction, but with a different flavor.

Pinterest is the culprit, and the Design Center is the victim.

The tech company is looking to take over the brick buildings of the San Francisco Design Center in Showplace Square, an area of town near the freeways and South of Market.

There, Pinterest is eyeing a deal to take over to 245,000 square feet of office space, the San Francisco Chronicle reported.

It would require some rezoning, but the property owner seems intent on signing the tech firm: Current tenants' requests for new leases have been rejected, the newspaper reported.
