Newsom's Newest Pitch for Office

advertisement

San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom stars in his own :60 video clip promoting none-other-than himself as Lieutenant Governor.

Newsom is handsome, self-deprecating and playful as he jets around City Hall touting his accomplishments.

It starts with a West Wing drum roll and ends with a cameo by former Mayor Willie Brown.

It's good, yet campy, TV that you will probably never see on TV because ads simply cost too much.

The ad was first played at the Democratic convention in Southern California, but we just found it today.

Lori Preuitt leaned on Jim Gaughran to be able to say this: The underlying music you hear in the ad comes from Sinnerman by Nina Simone.
