Embarcadero Station Shut Down Due to Person Under BART Train

Normal BART service is resuming at the Embarcadero station in San Francisco Monday morning after a person was hit by a train and was pulled still alive from the tracks, BART officials said.

Service into the East Bay was halted at about 10:30 a.m. after the person was hit by a train, BART officials said.

As of about 10:43 a.m., service had resumed in both directions on the westbound track, BART spokesman Taylor Huckaby said.

Firefighters extricated the victim from under the train as of about 11:30 a.m., according to San Francisco fire officials. As of about noon, BART service was resuming normally through the station in both directions, though residual delays are expected to continue.
