Officer Involved Shooting in San Jose

puppetgov.com

A San Jose police officer is recovering this morning after an overnight shootout with a suspect. The officer was responding to a report of a home invasion robbery just around the corner from the Children's Discovery Museum.

Three people were home at the time of the robbery. We do not know if they were hurt or targeted.

The suspect took off and ended up in a confrontation with officers on West Reed Street. That's about a mile from the home. One of the officers involved was hurt. Police say the officer was not shot, but was assaulted.

The suspect was shot by officers. He is in the hospital, but is expected to survive.
