Three-Legged Oakland Dog Makes Video Debut

Codie Rae, a 5 1/2 year old German shepherd from Oakland has made her debut in Patrick Stump's "Spotlight" music video.

But being a video star isn't her only claim to fame. Codie was dropped off at Oakland Animal Services when she was only 8 months old, with a wire wrapped around her infected hind leg, says the Oakland Tribune.

The crew worked with her and area vets to get her back up and healthy, but had to amputate the leg.

Stump's video shows ordinary people doing extraordinary things, like back flips on a pogo stick, and jumping rope while doing handstands. It's a little like stupid human tricks, but Codie is actually an extraordinary dog doing extraordinary things.

In the video, Codie Rae is seen running and jumping with ease, even though she only has three legs.

"I think she understands she has a handicap and tries to make up for it by being out in front," said her owner, Ralph Kanz,

"Nothing can hold her back from living life to the fullest; missing a leg is just not something she worries about," he said.

You can watch her performance in the video below.
