Police arrested 18 people and confiscated seven guns, including one they believe was used last month in a double homicide in East Oakland.

Investigators said it's all part of their Operation Ceasefire program designed to curb gang violence and make the streets of Oakland safer for everyone.

"The citizens of Oakland deserve to be able to live free and work free and not have to worry about being shot and killed in Oakland," Joyner said.
