Oakland Child Falls Out of Second Story Window

An Oakland child is recovering after a terrifying fall from a second story window Thursday.

Police said the four year old girl was knocked unconscious after tumbling out of a window at a home on 23rd Avenue.

A man saw the girl fall and rushed to her aid. He is an aspiring firefighter who knew what to do.

He called 911, kept the child calm and kept her from moving until an ambulance arrived.

He said the child woke up moments later and was able to answer questions.

She is expected to make a full recovery.

It’s unclear where the girl’s parents were at the time of the fall. Police said they type of falls are more common in the summertime when the weather is hot and families leave their windows open.
