Oakland Leads US in Robberies for Third-Straight Year: Report

A Bay Area city tops the nation in robberies for the third-straight year.

A new FBI report showed robberies shot up to historic levels in Oakland in 2013, according to the Oakland Tribune.

There were almost 5,000 robberies last year, according to the crime report. That comes out to nearly 14 robberies per day.

This is the worst it has been in at least three decades.

San Francisco, Richmond, Vallejo, Berkeley and Antioch also were in the top 50 nationwide for robberies.
