Oakland Police Seeking Assistance in Locating Suspects in Slaying of 5-year-old

Oakland police are seeking the public's assistance in locating two possible suspects in the fatal shooting of a 5-year-old boy outside his family's taco truck last year.

Gabriel Martinez, Jr. was gunned down while with his mother and father at their family business at 55th Avenue and International Boulevard on Dec. 30 at about 8:45 p.m.

Police released sketches of two possible suspects in the shooting today based on eyewitness accounts.

 

One suspect is described as a black man, between 20 and 29 years old, about 6 feet tall and weighing 185 pounds with short black hair and brown eyes.

The second suspect is described as a woman between 20 and 25 years old, five feet seven inches tall, weighing 140 pounds with dark hair. 


The two suspects are believed to have fled in a silver four-door Chevrolet Impala made between 2006 and 2009. Police believe there may have been additional females in the car as it fled the area.

Oakland police and Crimestoppers of Oakland have offered a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to an arrest in the case.
