The Oakland Police Department is investigating an in-custody death involving a Taser, the department said in a news release.
The incident occurred about 2:25 p.m. Thursday in the 4100 block of Foothill Boulevard, police said. They did not provide any details about the suspect or the crime, saying additional information would be provided at a later time.
The death is being investigated by the Oakland Police Department Homicide Section and Internal Affairs Division, per standard department protocol, polce said.
The Alameda County District Attorney’s Office also is conducting an independent investigation.
The cause of the suspect's death is being investigated.
