Oakland Police Looking for Protest Vandalism, Looting Suspects

Police are asking for the public's help in identifying suspects who they say vandalized and looted a MetroPCS store in downtown Oakland during a protest on Nov. 24.

Police allege that the suspects broke large storefront windows at the MetroPCS store in the 900 block of Broadway at 11:41 p.m. on Nov. 24, gained entry into the building and damaged and removed property. The suspects then fled the area on foot.

The protest occurred after a grand jury announced that it wouldn't indict Officer Darren Wilson for the shooting death of 18-year-old Michael Brown in Ferguson, Mo., on Aug. 9.

Oakland police said their investigation into the incident is ongoing and anyone with information about it should call their burglary section at (510) 238-3951.
