Oakland Police seeking public's help in search for runaway.

The Oakland Police Department is asking for the public's help in locating a 16-year-old female at-risk runaway.

Shyanne White was last seen Tuesday evening when she walked away from a group home located on Coolidge Avenue. Staff followed her to the area of International Boulevard and 34th Avenue, near the Fruitvale BART station, where they lost sight of her, police said.

Shyanne is described as Caucasian, 5 foot 4 inches, 150 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a pink shirt, a blue hooded-sweater with pink stripes, blue pants and blue Converse tennis shoes, according to police.

She is considered at-risk because of her diminished mental capacity and needs to be returned to the safe environment that her group home provides, police said.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to contact the Oakland Police Department Family Youth Service Division at (510) 238-3641.
