Quarterback Matt Leinart will reportedly join the Oakland Raiders as a back up quarterback.
Former USC Trojan and Houston Texan Matt Leinart will reportedly join the Oakland Raiders to back up Carson Palmer.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that Leinart will sign this week.
NFL.com reported that Leinart will work out for Oakland later this week, followed by a signing shortly after.
Leinart was a member of the Texans last year before he was injured and placed on injured reserve.
But in Houston he worked with current Raiders offensive coordinator and former Texnas' quarterbacks coach Greg Knapp.
Houston cut cut Leinart in March.
On the Raiders, Leinart will be forced to compete with Terrelle Pryor for the back up quarterback spot.
