Oakland Student, 18, Shot at Bus Stop During Drive-By

A 18-year-old Oakland student was wounded - but is expected to live - when he was shot during a drive-by at a bus stop Thursday morning, officials said.

The shooting was reported just before 10 a.m. in the 8200 block of Fontaine Street, near the campus of Bay Area Technology School.

Oakland Unified School District spokesman Troy Flint said the boy attends Rusdale High School, a continuation school on the campus of Bay Area Tech.

It was first reported that the teen is 17, but school records have his age as 18.

Oakland police spokewoman Johnna Watson said the boy ran onto campus after being shot and an employee rushed him to the hospital.

Police said multiple rounds were fire from a maroon sedan carrying as many as three people.
