Alameda County Official Faces Sexual Assault Allegations

Probation Chief Faces Sexual Assualt Allegations

California's Attorney General, Kamala Harris, is investigating Alameda County's Chief Probation Officer over sexual assault allegations.

David Muhammad is accused of assaulting and harassing a deputy probation officer. He has denied the charges and calls them false and outrageous. He claims the allegations are an attempt to extort money from the county. Muhammad has since been placed on administrative leave, the day of his anniversary with the department.

Muhammad was hired by Alameda County for his first hand knowledge of the justice system. He previously worked at probation departments in Washington D.C., New York and in Oakland.

He's been known to refer to criminal past while growing up in Oakland, including being arrested but not charged of attempted murder,  when speaking with youngsters.
