One Dead, One Critically Injured in SoMa Shooting

Officers are responding to a shooting that took place in San Francisco's South of Market neighborhood Friday morning which left one person dead and another critically injured.

Police are calling the incident an attempted murder-suicide involving a couple. According to police, a man shot a woman and then shot himself. He was pronounced dead on scene, police said. The woman has been transported to San Francisco General Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The shooting was first called in at 5:05 a.m. in the 500 block of Natoma Street across from 7th Street, according to police.

Police are investigating the incident and have not released information about possible suspects or the victims at this time.
