Richmond police investigating what appears to be an early morning home invasion.

Just before 4 a.m. Friday morning, police received a call about gunfire in a home on the 3200 block of Moran Ave.

When they arrived on scene they found a man shot multiple times and a woman dead in another room. The man is at the hospital in critical condition.

Police say someone inside the home called 911. They think it was a home invasion robbery or hot prowl robbery, meaning someone went inside to burglarize the home and got caught.

Richmond police are working with San Pablo police, searching for multiple suspects. They say they have already detained two people spotted in the area.
