Online Spending Rivals Black Friday

Online spending is growing steadily.

Black Friday is every day, for online retailers,

Shoppers spent $10.1 billion online from Nov. 1 to Nov. 18, according to Reuters. On Nov. 8, online shoppers spent $829 million alone.

Currently, online commerce represents no more than 10 percent of American shopping and spending habits, according to comScore, a consumer investigation organization. But it's growing fast -- comScre thinks online retail spending could top 17 percent of all spending before too long, Reuters reported.

One reason is that online sellers, just like brick-and-mortar stores, are launching deals earlier.

Amazon.com launched Black Friday deals on Nov. 19. And eBay sales were up 24.5 percent in the days before Thanksgiving, Reuters reported.
