PG&E Impersonator on Loose in Marin

PG&E impersonator on loose.

A man attempted to talk his way into a San Rafael home pretending to be a Pacific Gas and Electric Company employee on Saturday, according to reports.

A black man wearing a safety vest and an identification holder knocked on the door of a home in a "quiet neighborhood" at 10:45 a.m. Saturday, asking to check the heater, the Marin Independent Journal reported.

The man drove off in a silver SUV that did not have PG&E markings, the newspaper reported. PG&E denied having any workers in the area.

The SUV was a 1998 Mercedes with license plate numbers 5XYX964, the newspaper reported. The man was described as 5-foot-10, 225 pounds, the newspaper reported.
