Pair of Gilroy Earthquakes Strike a Minute Apart

Two earthquakes near Gilroy with preliminary magnitudes of 3.2 and 3.3 struck a minute apart Tuesday  afternoon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremors occurred at 1:09 p.m. and 1:10 p.m. near the Calaveras Fault about 6 miles southeast of Gilroy.

The 3.2 quake had a depth of 3.2 miles, while the 3.3 quake had a depth of 2.7 miles, according to the USGS.
