It was a field of dreams for the Petaluma National Little League team at the A's game in Oakland Friday, especially after the team beat the Boston Red Sox 20-2. The boys took third in the World Series of Little League games. Jean Elle rpeorts. (Published Tuesday, Sep 4, 2012)

Ain't no party like a pizza party -- with San Francisco Giants' ace Matt Cain.

Cain, who tossed a perfect game in June, will host the members of the third-place Little League World Series squad from Petaluma on Sunday for a little pizza pie, according to reports.
Cain and advertiser/sponsor Patxi's Pizza will serve up the grub beginning at 10:45 a.m., with last call at 12:15 p.m.
A wee early for some, perhaps, but then again Cainer will be hungry after pitching against the Dodgers Saturday.
Win or lose, Cain will kick it with the kids after their pizza party, signing autographs and posing for photos. This is part of a pattern for Cain -- he phoned the team prior to their U.S. Championship game to wish them good luck.
Cain will have some extra time Sunday to spend with the kids thanks to ESPN. The sports network picked the final game of the Giants Dodgers series for its Sunday night game of the week.
The little leaguers have also been hosted to an A's game in Oakland. And they were the star attraction at a downtown parade in Petaluma.
