A photographer from Pleasant Hill is riding a Harley Davidson to more than 20 cities across the U.S. this summer to raise money for underprivileged children in the Dominican Republic.

During the 5,000-mile trek that begins today, Gustavo Fernandez is shooting portraits in exchange for a donation to Children International, a humanitarian nonprofit organization based in Kansas City, Mo., that provides resources for education as well as medical and dental care for children from Third World nations.

As he roars across the U.S., he plans to make stops in Las Vegas, Denver, Phoenix, Oklahoma City, Kansas City, Detroit and Chicago.

Find more information about Fernandez and his Hog for Kids trip online and on his Web site.
