People living on one San Jose street successfully petitioned the city Tuesday to change the street's name.

Phunglau Court is located near the Saratoga Avenue and Stevens Creek Boulevard intersection.

People living on the court said the name was causing problems. They told the San Jose Mercury News it is tough spelling and pronouncing the name to delivery companies.

So, the six families living there came together and signed a petition to change the name.

On Tuesday, the San Jose City Council voted 9-0 to approve the street's new name, Joy Lane.
