Police say the man who crashed into a South Bay restaurant may have had a diabetic episode while he was driving.

Police say the man who crashed into a South Bay restaurant may have had a diabetic episode while he was driving.

Police say the man who crashed into a South Bay Portuguese restaurant may have had a diabetic episode while he was driving.

It happened on Alum Rock Avenue in San Jose Tuesday afternoon.

The restaurant, Sousa's, was closed at the time.

The car also hit some gas pipes, closing down Alum Rock for a while.

The driver was taken to the hospital. His condition has not been released.
