    In California, specialty license plates need 7,500 orders before they can be produced. Over 3,300 people have signed up so far, according to the California Pink Plate Campaign’s official website, PinkPlate.org.

    California lawmakers want drivers to "think pink” with a new type of license plate.

    The plate, for breast cancer awareness, would have a pink background, with a pink ribbon and the words "Early Detection Saves Lives."

    A bill to create the new plate has been introduced in the state assembly with the goal of putting it on vehicles by next year.

    In California, specialty license plates need 7,500 orders before they can be produced.  More than 3,300 people have signed up so far, according to the California Pink Plate Campaign’s official website, PinkPlate.org.
