Pittsburg Cop Responding to Bank Robbery Involved in Multi-Vehicle Crash: Report

A chain reaction crash in Pittsburg on Monday injured five people including a police officer who was responding to a report of a bank robbery.

The Contra Costa Times reports that the multi-vehicle crash, which involved three cars and a motorcycle, happened at the intersection of Loveridge Road and East Leland Road.

Meanwhile, a robber allegedly handed a teller at the Wells Fargo on Railroad Avenue a note demanding cash. It's not clear if the alleged thief made off with any money. No information on a suspect description has been released.

As for the chain reaction crash, the officer had his siren and lights on when he entered the intersection, according to the report. It's not clear how the crash happened, but none of the injuries were deemed life-threatening, the newspaper reported.
