Pleasanton to Get Bay Area's First Starbucks with Booze

A mocha Frappuccino and a glass of Chardonnay? Yes, soon, in Pleasanton.

Starbucks plans to open the first Bay Area location of its "Starbucks Evening" "concept stores" in downtown Pleasanton this spring, the company announced.

Pleasanton Weekly notes that the evening-brand of coffee shops serve alcohol after 4 p.m. in addition to Starbuck's usual menu.

There are already "Starbucks Evening" stores in Chicago and Los Angeles.

Starbucks considers the new offerings to be more of a "cafe" than a coffee shop, which means that the atmosphere will be family-friendly.
