Sarah Williams, 19, of Pleasanton will be carrying the Olympic torch in the UK. Sometime between now and July 27, when the Summer Games open in London, Sarah and 8,000 others will be official torchbearers to run.

According to the Contra Costa Times, Williams will carry the torch as an honor for organizing a charitable project which supplied blankets for foster kids.

She raised around $80,000 and created the Creative Kindness project as well as the Legacy Blanket Kits. THe Creative Kindness project has spread to six states now.

Sarah will carry the torch on July 9th.
