Police Arrest Man Suspected of Shooting Brother

Police in Antioch have arrested a 41-year-old man they believe was handling a gun when he accidentally shot and killed his brother on Saturday.

Police in Antioch have arrested a 41-year-old man they believe was  handling a gun when he accidentally shot and killed his brother on Saturday.

George Enriquez, 41, was arrested for involuntary manslaughter and  possession of an assault weapon in connection with the shooting, which took  place in the 2300 block of Cambridge Drive, according to Antioch Police.   

Police believe Enriquez' brother, 37-year-old Michael Enriquez, of  Pittsburg, went to his brother's Antioch home to show off a newly acquired  gun.

While the two men were handling the weapon, it fired, striking the  younger brother, police said.

Officers responded to a 911 call from Enriquez saying he had  accidentally shot his brother at about 6:40 p.m., police said.   

Police and paramedics arrived on scene and found the 37-year-old  man suffering a single gunshot wound, police said.

The victim was declared dead at the scene, police said.

The incident remains under investigation.
