SJ Police Investigating Body Found in RV Parked Downtown

San Jose police say a man's body was found inside an RV parked downtown early Monday morning in a death the coroner is calling "suspicious."

Police spokesman Albert Morales said the discovery was made about 3:40 a.m. on Fourth Street at Julian Street. Someone called 911 and said a man was unresponsive inside a camper.

Police and fire crews arrived to find the man not breathing. They say he appears to have been in his 70s.

Police won't say what makes the death suspicious, only that it does not appear to be natural.

Neighbor Mike Gerra told NBC Bay Area that he had seen the camper parked there for at least the past week and a half.

“Besides this happening, and then the shooting that happened about two and a half weeks ago, I’m about ready to move out of here,” Gerra said. “I’ve been here seven years, and nothing has ever happened…and now this.”
