Police are investigating the shooting deaths of a husband and wife in Danville Monday morning as a murder-suicide, police said.

Officers responded at 7:46 a.m. to a home on Glen Eagle Court following a 911 call, police said.

Upon arrival, officers heard a gunshot and made entry into the home, where they found a man dead of a gunshot wound.

Police searched the home and found the body of a woman also dead from a gunshot wound.

Officers identified the decedents as Edward Perry, 77, and Patricia Perry, 67.

This is the first homicide Danville has had in five years, police said.
