Peninsula Hit by String of Indecent Exposure Cases

A string of indecent exposure cases have been reported in the Peninsula over the past week.

Belmont police on Friday responded to a report of a man who exposed himself in a parked car.

At about 7:40 a.m., two women inside a Peets Coffee in the 1200 block of El Camino saw the suspect, who was driving a newer model, four-door BMW sedan at the curb. Police said when one of the women went outside to get the vehicle's license plate, the suspect drove off southbound on El Camino, toward San Carlos.

The suspect is described as a white male adult in his 30s, with short, dark hair and was clean shaven. Witnesses told police the suspect was dressed professionally with a button down shirt.

Belmont police are working closely with the Palo Alto Police Department, which also is investigating several reports of indecent exposure.

The most recent incident in Palo Alto was reported Thursday afternoon -- the third flashing incident this week in town. Police are wondering whether they are all connected.

The latest victim was a woman in her 20's on Miller Avenue near Monroe Park. The woman was riding her bicycle when the suspect driving a white BMW stopped in midst of traffic and exposed himself to her.

The suspect is described as a professional-looking male between 40 to 50 years old, wearing a yellow button down shirt and sunglasses at the time. Police have not released a sketch of this suspect.

This follows two similar cases that happened earlier this week on Monday and Tuesday. The vehicles described in each incident have been different.
