Police are investigating a fatal shooting that killed a 16-year-old boy in Richmond on Tuesday night.
Officers responded to alerts of a shooting through the city's ShotSpotter activation system in the 4000 block of Flemming Avenue around 10:30 p.m., Richmond Police Sgt. Nicole Abetkov said.
Police also received a 911 call about a fight and possibly one shot fired at that same location, she said.
Arriving officers found the 16-year-old boy suffering from a gunshot wound and he was later pronounced dead at the scene, Abetkov said.
Additional units from the San Pablo and El Cerrito police departments were called due to a large crowd at the scene, according to Abetkov.
No arrests have been made but investigators are looking for a 1999 Lexus four-door sedan with California license plate 5RLD637, she said.
Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to contact Richmond police at (510) 233-1214.
