Police set up a perimeter Wednesday afternoon while searching for a wanted suspect who bailed on foot from a vehicle as officers initiated a traffic stop on surface streets in San Francisco's Potrero Hill neighborhood, police said.

Officers said the man bailed from a vehicle at 3:23 p.m. near the Mariposa Street on- and off-ramps to Interstate Highway 280, near Indiana Street.

Police during the search closed the Mariposa Street ramp connecting to Highway 280.

Police said the suspect is wanted in connection with a case in Oakland, but they have not publicly released his identity.

At 5:20 p.m., police reported four suspects have been taken into custody.
