One person was killed Wednesday afternoon when shots were fired at a marijuana-growing operation in the Lake Berryessa area, a Napa County sheriff's captain said.
A member of the Napa Special Investigations Bureau fired the shots, killing one person, at about 12:50 p.m., sheriff's Capt. Tracey Stuart said.
The drug enforcement team was hiking into the growing operation when the shooting occurred, Stuart said.
SWAT teams from the sheriff's office and Napa Police Department are securing the area, Stuart said.
The California Highway Patrol and the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office each sent a helicopter to the scene, Stuart said.
