Pregnant Woman Robbed in Menlo Park

Police are looking for a man who robbed a pregnant woman outside  her home in Menlo Park on Wednesday night.

Officers responded to a report of a robbery in the 1200 block of  Sevier Avenue around 9:45 p.m., Sgt. Tim Brackett said.

The woman was sitting in the passenger seat of her car parked on  the driveway of the residence where a man approached her, Brackett said.

He demanded the woman for her personal property but did not open  the car door, according to Brackett.

The man then broke into the passenger side window with an unknown  object injuring the woman, he said.

With force he took $200 in cash from her and fled the scene,  according to Brackett.

The woman was also injured by shattered glass from the broken  window and was transported for injuries that were not considered to be  life-threatening, Brackett said.

The woman told officers she was 8 months pregnant and had returned  home after a night out.

Officers searched the area for the man without success.

The suspect is described as an African-American man around his mid-30s  standing about 5 feet 8 inches tall with a slender to medium build. He was  last seen wearing a black long-sleeved hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled  over his head.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call Menlo  Park police at (650) 330-6300 or leave an anonymous tip at (650) 330-6395.
