Prom Night at Children's Hospital

Kids escape their hospital rooms for a night of fun.

Patients trade in hospital gowns for tuxedos and party dresses at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford.

It's prom night and Amanda Sechrest says it's a welcome distraction.

She is recovering from a heart and liver transplant and is tired of the same old hospital routine.

Rolling into the "Mystery of the Deep" party in the cafeteria in a wheelchair, wearing a navy blue gown, sparkling shoes and diamond earrings she is amazed.

Music is playing and casino tables are ready for action.

Sechrest says the candy bar is her favorite spot, she's been craving chocolate and finally got some.

She is surrounded by smiling patients who for one night had a chance to forget about being sick and focus on having fun.
