A propane tanker rolled over on its side in the East Bay early Monday morning prompting evacuations at a nearby inn as a safety precaution.
The tanker overturned about 3 a.m. near Carlson Boulevard on eastbound Interstate 80 in Richmond. There was a small vapor leak, Richmond firefighters said, and guests at the nearby America's Best Value Inn were evacuated as a precaution.
Each tanker carries 4,500 of propane.
Firefighters said there was no immediate health threat. The California Highway Patrol is investigating why the tanker overturned.
