RV Fire Slows Bay Bridge Traffic

A recreational driver lost his vehicle to a fire Tuesday morning on the Bay Bridge.

The driver's white RV caught fire around 10:45 a.m. just north of the tunnel on westbound I-80.

Black smoke from the fire could be seen for miles.

An NBC Bay Area viewer sent in the video at the top of this article that shows the fire at its height. The fire never closed bridge traffic, instead the CHP forced other drivers to the two left-hand lanes.

The RV appeared to be a total loss. The good news is that no one was hurt.
