iHeart80s, Radio Station With Eighties Music Format, Launches

iHeart80s, a new corporate FM radio station with an '80s pop-music format, has launched on Bay Area airwaves.

Located at 103.7 FM (KOSF), it is the latest local station from mega-conglomerate iHeartMedia, formerly Clear Channel, and is an outgrowth of the company's existing iHeart80s digital channel.

Though she's based in Los Angeles, Martha Quinn, one of MTV's original "VJs," has been announced as the morning radio personality on-air weekdays from 6 to 10 a.m.

The current playlist includes songs like "Relax" by Frankie Goes to Hollywood, "Beat It" by Michael Jackson, "Take Me Home Tonight" by Eddie Money and "Owner of a Lonely Heart" by Yes.

According to SFGate, the station is the first to establish an full-time '80s format in the region since 1993, when KABL did it for just one year.
