Rash of Mountain View Car Break-Ins

A rash of car break-in prompted police on the Peninsula to warn people not to leave valuables in their cars.

Mountain View Police said there has been a spike in car break-ins. Victims reported 30 break ins in just the last two weeks.

According to police, it is a common problem around the holidays because people are more likely to leave gifts and bags in plain sight while out running errands.
