Reality Show Contestant Gets 50 to Life for Murder

Oakland man appeared on VH1

A former reality TV show contestant may be spending the rest of his life in prison after being sentenced in a San Francisco murder case.

The San Francisco Chronicle reports that 29-nine-year-old Jamal Rashead Trulove of Oakland was sentenced to 50 years to life Friday for a fatal shooting in a San Francisco housing project in 2007.

Trulove was convicted in February of first-degree murder and weapons charges in the death of 28-year-old Seu Kuka, who was gunned down at the Sunnydale Housing project in the city's Visitacion Valley.

Trulove appeared on the VH1 reality show "I Love New York 2." The program was taped in Los Angeles just three weeks before Kuka's murder.

A few months after the fatal shooting a witness came forward and said she saw recognized Trulove from both the television program and the shooting.
